Evaluating the Dangers of Texting vs. Drinking While Driving

While a significant amount of emphasis is placed on preventing drinking and driving, the same is not necessarily true for texting and driving. However, as you will learn in this video, texting while driving can be even more dangerous than driving while intoxicated. Drivers reading or responding to texts were found to have slower reaction times than drunk drivers when tested on a closed driving track.

Participants in the controlled simulation agreed that texting is a complicated task that presents far too much of a distraction while driving.
